When discussing the many benefits of chlorella, we cannot fail to mention its contribution to growth factors. These growth factors, including vitamins, amino acids, purines, and pyrimidines, are essential for growth and health. However, the human body cannot synthesize these key components on its own and must be obtained through food or other means. Chlorella is a food source rich in such growth factors. Furthermore, chlorella is noteworthy for its high content of EPA. This unique fat plays a vital role in the human body and is crucial for maintaining human health.

Some even tout this type of health food as a "panacea." However, from an ingredient perspective, while chlorella is rich in growth factors and beneficial components like EPA, the development of illness often involves multiple factors, and the amount required for treatment varies from person to person. Therefore, consuming chlorella alone cannot be relied upon to treat illness. So, what are the benefits of chlorella that we generally understand?
Chlorella is a food that can improve the body's acid-base balance. When discussing the acidity and alkalinity of food, we typically focus on the phosphorus to calcium (P/Ca) ratio. A ratio above 1.0 is considered acidic, while a ratio below 1.0 is alkaline. While these ratios for kelp, nori, and kombu are approximately 0.54, 0.34, and 0.29, respectively, chlorella's ratio is only 0.14, demonstrating its significant alkalinity. The human body is composed of 99.7% organic matter and 0.3% inorganic matter. This 0.3% of inorganic matter, particularly minerals such as calcium, phosphorus, and magnesium, plays a crucial role in regulating the body's pH. Chlorella, rich in these minerals, can effectively contribute to the body's transition to an alkaline constitution and activate enzyme activity.
